WEAVING NEW WAYS: Shifting from Colonial Patterns to Regenerative Practices

A Card Deck for Facilitators, Designers, Leaders, and Capacity Builders

These cards are designed as companions to the From Colonial to Regenerative Practices Self-Assessment and Guide. Where the self-assessment helps us notice and name patterns, the cards invite us into practice—small experiments that help shift how we show up in ourselves, our relationships, our work and in leadership.

We often replicate colonial tendencies unconsciously: centering some voices while silencing others, privileging efficiency over depth, or valuing expertise over lived wisdom. Shifting these patterns require more than awareness. It calls for constant attunement, recalibration and more importantly, practice—moment by moment, conversation by conversation, and choice by choice.

Each card offers a way to engage with these shifts at different levels of intensity (🌱 Seed -light reflection, 🌿 Sapling- deeper dialogue, 🌳 Forest- immersive group activity). You can use them for personal reflection, in pairs, or within groups. Some cards invite you to think (pause, reflect, write); others ask you to do (act, dialogue, embody). Both are pathways to integration.

These practices are not linear steps or checklists. They are ways to re-root how we hold space, how we relate, and how we design for care, connection, contribution, and community. Use them to weave regenerative ways of being into your everyday practice.

✨ Remember: change does not come from perfection but from practice.

If you are part of an organization or network that would like to weave new ways into your own practices and structures, I would love to work with you. Together, we can co-create processes and pathways that move beyond colonial patterns and nurture regenerative, healing-centered ecosystems.
